The CANedge1 and CANedge2 GPS data logger variants combine 2 x CAN/LIN logging with an internal GNSS receiver and 3D IMU, adding 40+ GPS/IMU signals via sensor fusion. Plus: AGV predictive maintenance and Marple data analytics case studies.
CANedge incl. GNSS/IMU now available
We have now launched the CANedge1/CANedge2 with internal GNSS and 3D Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU).
In short: It's like a CANedge + CANmod.gps - but in one device!
Below are key features focused on the GNSS/IMU functionality (LinkedIn post):
1: GNSS/IMU signals
Add 40+ GNSS/IMU signals to your 2 x CAN/LIN data, incl. position, speed, trip distance, XYZ acceleration, roll/pitch/yaw and more
2: Compact
The CANedge incl. GNSS/IMU is 70%+ more compact vs. using a CANmod.gps, bracket and adapter
3: Low cost
Upgrading to a CANedge incl. GNSS/IMU is 60%+ lower cost vs. adding a CANmod.gps, bracket and adapter
4: Two free CAN channels
By internalizing the CANmod.gps functionality, you no longer "block" a CAN channel on the CANedge, granting you the full use of the 2 x CAN + 2 x LIN channels
5: GPS/IMU sensor fusion
The device offers 3X higher positioning accuracy via sensor fusion for automotives - even in GNSS hostile areas (parking lots, tunnels, mines)
6: High frequency
Output all GNSS/IMU messages at up to 5 Hz (vs. 1 Hz for most CANmod.gps messages)
7: Configurable
Fully customize which GNSS/IMU messages to record (and at what frequency) - including over-the-air for the CANedge2
8: DBC file
Free DBC file included for easy decoding of recorded GNSS/IMU messages to physical values
9: RTC sync via GNSS
Optionally sync the CANedge RTC via the internal high-precision GNSS time for continuous sub-second sync - ideal for fleets or for use cases where you need to log 3+ CAN buses via multiple CANedge units
10: Pro specs
The device uses the cutting-edge u-blox NEO-M9V module for enhanced precision and features
