The CANedge HW 00.03 enclosure gives our CAN bus data loggers mounting flanges, a 15% smaller size, a new CANedge2 antenna and an improved SD card slot, with full compatibility with HW 00.02 units. Plus: Automated InfluxDB + Grafana dashboards and a John Deere case study.
New CANedge 'HW 00.03' enclosure now available!
We have updated the enclosure for the CANedge based on feedback from our users. Check out pictures of the updated enclouses on our Products page!
The new hardware is in stock and ships globally within 1-2 business days.
Note: This is a mechanical change only, meaning you can freely mix HW 00.02 and HW 00.03 units in your deployments without any compatibility issues.
Below we highlight 4 key benefits:
1: Mounting flanges
Increasingly, the CANedge is installed at scale in permanent/long-term installations. This is now much easier as our 'mounting bracket' is no longer required! Instead you can mount the devices directly - and optionally use our new 'mounting kit', which also comes with vibration dampeners
2: 15% smaller
The new enclosure measures just 75 x 47 x 20 mm excl. flanges. The volume is thus on par with our CLX000. In other words, you get the full functionality of the CANedge in the palm of your hand, with an unbeatable specs/size ratio. 3: New CANedge2 antenna
For the CANedge2, we have switched to a new WiFi antenna in order to improve the robustness towards heavy vibration in the field. The new antenna is also slightly more compact
4: Improved SD card slot
A feedback on earlier versions of the CANedge was the risk of the micro SD getting lost within the enclosure. This risk is now removed through updates to the enclosure and internal design, which also improve the robustness towards vibration

If you're using the CANedge2 to upload data to AWS S3, you can now deploy a 'Lambda function' by simply double-clicking a batch script. This lets you deploy scalable automation, meaning that every time a new log file is uploaded, it is auto-processed - making it immediately available for visualization in your Grafana dashboards
