Deutsch DT06 Adapter Cable + asammdf 7.3.17 [News]
news / 2023-11
Our new Deutsch DT06 adapter cable lets you record 2 x CAN with the CANedge in maritime and other DT06-based applications, while the free asammdf 7.3.17 GUI adds a bus database manager for your DBC files. Plus: A CAN logging webinar, Super SIM and J1939 DBC 2023-10.
asammdf 7.3.17 - reload your DBC files
The asammdf GUI is a 100% free and open source GUI tool that enables you to quickly load, DBC decode and visualize CAN/LIN data from your CANedge data logger.
A key feature of the new 7.3.17 release is the 'Bus database manager', which lets you load your DBC files and specify which CAN/LIN channel to apply them to. This lets you avoid having to reload them across log files and sessions, saving a lot of time.
The GUI also adds a number of DBC decoding fixes, including correct support for 0xDA00 PGNs (used in 29-bit OBD2 and WWH-OBD DBC files) and mixing of J1939 PGNs and Standard/Extended IDs in the same DBC. Learn more in our LinkedIn post!

DT06-DB9/DB9 adapter cable
The CANedge is increasingly used in maritime applications, for logging NMEA 2000 and/or J1939 engine data. The raw CAN data can be recorded to the CANedge SD card and optionally uploaded via WiFi (CANedge2) or 3G/4G (CANedge3) to your own server. This combination of SD card and remote connectivity makes the CANedge perfect for marine vessels moving in/out of connectivity.
A common connector in maritime applications is the DT06, enabling access to two separate CAN networks. With this new adapter cable, you can now directly hook up a CANedge to record 2 x CAN from e.g. Volvo Penta engines and other CAN applications.
Super SIM - discount your data costs by 90%
The CANedge3 is our 2 x CAN/LIN data logger with 3G/4G and GPS/IMU, released in July - and already extremely popular.
To connect you CAN-to-cloud, simply set up your server and insert your own SIM card.
But sourcing SIM cards can be time consuming - and often you'll get expensive data rates for small volume deployments. Further, if your CAN/LIN applications operate across multiple countries, things can get convoluted.
To solve this, we include a Super SIM with each CANedge3:
- OPTIONAL: The SIM is included for free - and is 100% optional
- INSTANT: Create your SIM account and deploy your device instantly
- 90% DISCOUNT: Benefit from pre-negotiated and competitive data rates
- SCALABLE: Start with 1 SIM - and scale to 1000+ if needed
- GLOBAL: Access 400+ carriers in 185+ countries - incl. tier 1 vendors
- RELIABLE: Minimize downtime via network failover and redundancy
- MANAGE: Easy-to-use web console. APIs. Dashboards. Configurable
Review the price list on our Super SIM page - or learn more in our LinkedIn post.
Example: Using the Super SIM in USA, you would pay 0.4$/SIM/month and 0.005$/MB (= 5$/GB) - making it 90%+ cheaper than most IoT SIM providers.
J1939 DBC 2023-10 released
Our J1939 DBC file lets you easily decode raw J1939 data from heavy-duty vehicles. We have updated this to the latest 2023-10 revision, adding new PGNs and SPNs-
Deploy an AWS S3 bucket in <1 min
Setting up an AWS S3 bucket is the most popular option for collecting CAN/LIN data from a CANedge2/3. With our new 'quick creation' template this can now be done in <1 min without errors - check it out!
Electric vehicle CAN bus diagnostics
In this case study, Everrati deploys the CANedge1 on all their restomodded electric vehicles to both enhance their diagnostic capabilities - and better understand customer usage.
"No other solution has the same level of functionality and ease-of-use as the CANedge - and we have fit a CANedge to our entire test and development fleet"
