AKSA Transport Systems develops the E-COOLPAC mobile battery system in cooperation with Thermo King for supplying fully electric transport refrigeration units.
What problem did you solve?
We needed to provide real-time data from our mobile battery system 'E-COOLPAC' (battery system for supplying electrical transport refrigeration units) to our customers on our telematics platform 'MYPAC' - for use in monitoring, planning and diagnostics.
How did you solve it?
Our CAN bus application consists of various nodes such as inverters, OBC, BMS, and various gateways that communicate via CANopen or J1939 and are brought together on a mobile PLC. The CANedge3 logs the data from our CAN bus to an SD card and transfers it to our Amazon cloud when the device has LTE coverage. In the cloud, our data is made available/traceable for the complete lifecycle of the E-COOLPAC. We deploy various AWS database tools/scripts to further process the raw values into physical values, ready for visualization and analysis in our custom MYPAC platform.

What benefit has this led to?
By deploying the CANedge3 we have made real-time data from our E-COOLPAC battery systems available online to our customers, dealers and service technicians. This helps our customers optimize their processes - for example, truck routes can be optimized according to the SOC of the battery, and downtime can be planned or even avoided. Further, our service technicians are now able to read machine data online in the event of a failure, enabling them to provide fast and customized support.
