About the Generic-to-DB9 Adapter Cable
What can you use it for? The generic adapter cable is useful for cases where neither the J1939 or OBD2 adapters can be used directly (or the CLX000's built-in DB9 connector). Several applications use other connectors where a custom cable is required. The generic adapter lets you get started faster by providing a good starting point incl. a DB9 female connector that matches the CLX000. Further, the banana plugs are useful for quickly testing the power supply in many test setups.
How to install it? You'll typically create your own custom adapter, using the generic adapter cable as a starting point. Once your cable is done, we of course encourage that you test the cable supply lines to ensure the specs match what you expect.

Need to log data from a production robot with a custom connector?
Within industrial automation you will often encounter the use of the CiA DB9 connector, meaning you can directly connect a CLX000 CAN logger. However, in some cases another connector is used (which we may not offer a direct adapter for). In these cases, the fastest way to connect your CLX000 is to create your own adapter based on the generic-to-DB9 cable. This way you'll save time and minimize the customization required - as well as reduce the risk of errors.
